Jonathan Shader is a board-certified and fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in cataract, LASER assisted cataract, LASIK, and other refractive surgeries. He offers a wide range of vision correction procedures to help his patients achieve clear vision. His goal is to provide the highest quality compassionate care possible by promising to treat every patient like family.

I believe that having a local family doctor is an ideal practice model for medical practices. I am excited to live in Lake Havasu City and serve the people of LHC and Mohave county.”
Dr. Shader is fellowship trained in the latest cornea and lens-based refractive surgery technology and surgical techniques, including small incision LASIK surgery and the latest in premium intraocular lens technology to correct astigmatism and presbyopia. He strives for the highest of ethical standards for the care that he provides. His commitment to you as a patient, is that he will care for and treat you as he would want himself or his own family members to be treated.
Shader attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences, COMP-NW, in Lebanon, Oregon and completed his medical intern year at Kaweah Health in Visalia, California. Dr. Shader served as the Administrative Chief Resident in his final year of his ophthalmology residency at Augusta University/Medical College of Georgia, an ACGME accredited “MD” residency teaching hospital. Throughout his career, he has completed novel research projects and has received numerous awards for his academic achievements. He was fellowship trained at one of the country’s most innovative ophthalmic practices in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
When away from his practice, Dr Shader is often found playing his guitar at church or working with the youth group. He is an avid waterman: swimming, surfing, and foiling wherever he can! He also enjoys weightlifting, ice hockey, and snowboarding. He enjoys experiencing new cultures and has traveled to many countries including Egypt, Greece, Italy, Nigeria, Uganda, and England among many others.
While traveling home from hiking the Grand Canyon, Dr. Shader and his son stopped at Lake Havasu City for the first time, and were stunned by the beauty of the area. This stop proved to be life- changing as the Shaders have now moved to Lake Havasu!
Jonathan and Rachelle Shader have been married for over 16 years now, and have two children. The entire family loves to boat on beautiful Lake Havasu.
Dr. Shader is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, The American Academy of Ophthalmology, The American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery and serves on the board of directors for the Christian Ophthalmology Society.

Recently, Dr. Shader performed cataract surgeries while on a medical mission trip to the Sinaloa region of Mexico in the Sierra Madre Mountains, serving the Tarahumara people.
